FAQ
Frequent Questions
It is not necessary to lubricate the Wheeleez™ bearings or bushings.
Reason: they are self-lubricating with molybdenum lubricant mixed with the plastic used to mold the bearing and bushings.
Applying oil-based lubricants will attract sand, dirt, grime and grit and generally make things dirty.
Simple, periodic cleaning/rinsing with a pressure nozzle on a garden hose is sufficient maintenance.
If I decide to tow any of these with a bicycle or scooter, will the bearings or tires wear out?
The answer is simple: it is walking speed. The reason for this is that Wheeleez™ wheel bearings or bushings are not high-speed bearings by design. Rather, they are intended as functional bearings/bushings for heavier loads at slower speeds.
As indicated on the tire sidewall, the PSI range for Wheeleez™ wheels is 2 to 4 psi.
The tires are best inflated with a hand bicycle pump. You can also use any air source, but be careful with compressed air not to overinflate them!
It seems that the natural tendency is to over-inflate the Wheeleez™ wheel, which actually reduces its effectiveness when riding over uneven terrain. Keeping your tires at 2-3 PSI will ensure maximum performance.
Note: Automobile tire pressure gauges cannot measure such low pressure. You will need a low pressure gauge.
