How to repair a puncture in the tire?
1. Does your tire have a “shrader valve”? This is the type of valve you would find on a bicycle or car tire.
2. Inflate the tire and soak it in soapy water to check for leaks. (If it's not obvious)
- If the leak is coming from a puncture or hole, continue to #3.
- If the leak is coming from the valve base, click the “Valve Base Leak” tab on the left.
3. Marque la punción insertando un clavo/pasador.
4. Deflate the tire completely.
5. Remove the nail/pin.
6. Your wheel can be easily repaired with a hot knife or soldering iron. (A knife heated with a lighter will work if you don't have access to a hot knife or soldering iron.)
7. For punctures and punctures, you can melt the surface material surrounding the hole and cover the hole with the melted material. Make sure you only melt the surface material. Don't melt too deep.
8. For tears, pinch the area around the hole or cut to expose the inner edge of the tire wall. Apply the heated tip of the soldering iron or hot blade to the tire wall until the material becomes tacky.
9. Gradually release grip on the tire and allow the material to re-bond.
10. Apply iron/knife to the outside edge of the hole/cut and build up melted material over that area.
11. Let the patch cool and cure for 10-15 minutes. Inflate to the specified pressure. (Optimal pressure: 2.5 psi.) For best result, use a bicycle pump. DO NOT OVERINFLATE. Use a low pressure gauge to check the pressure.
How to change a tire?
- Deflate the tire
- Remove the nuts from the back side of the wheel: (3) PVC wheel, (4) globe wheel.
- Remove the bearing retaining bolts and rings.
- Separate the cube halves by gradually moving them apart.
- Remove the bearings from the hub halves and replace them if they are visibly worn.
- Remove the old tire and discard it.
- Follow the reverse procedure for installing new tires. Move the tire halves to seat together.
- Inflate to proper PSI (optimal pressure: 2.5 psi).
Tip: Change 1 tire at a time, leaving other assemblies as a reference for reassembly.
Tools needed:
- A 10mm adjustable socket/ratchet wrench or screwdriver is required to remove the nuts and bolts.
- Compressor or air pump
- Low pressure gauge
Valve base leak
You may have a leak because the valve base is not tightened properly.
Solution: Tighten the valve core with the valve core tool available inexpensively at any auto or bike store. (shown in the image below)
In rare cases, the valve stem is stuck in a slightly open position allowing air to escape from the tire.
It is very easy to replace the valve cores. Simply go to any auto parts store or bike shop and pick up a valve core tool and replacement valve core. Using the tool, swap the new valve for the old one and you're done.
How to attach the quick lock knob?
How to attach the quick lock knob?
The wire locking pin will slide through the bushing slots.
(Slots on the hub are shown in the photo.)
Insert the wire locking pin into the quick lock knob as shown.
Do not insert too far to leave clearance for the bushing.
Align the locking knob and bushing slots as shown.
“A” and “B” should line up as shown in the photo above.
With the pin “in,” place the knob on the bushing, making sure it is aligned as in the previous photo.
Push the wire locking pin through the slots to engage.
You will hear/feel a click when the wire locking pin seats under the twist lock knob.
It is not necessary to turn the locking knob when mounting the wheel on the axle.
To remove the wheel from the axle, turn the locking knob just 1/4 turn and remove the wheel.
Turn only 1/4 turn. If you turn too much, the wire pin may come out of the knob.
Unlock the Beach Cart
If you find that the springs on your Beach Cart are turning in the wrong direction, preventing the kickstand from remaining in the locked position, this is a way to easily secure them.
Take the part of the spring that is flat against the carriage and fold it over the ridge as shown. (Needle nose pliers will come in handy.)
Here's a close-up of the long, straight part of the spring bent to fit over the adjacent ridge.
Así es como se verá cuando termine.
